Actor Lateef Adedimeji Opens Up About Underpayment in Nollywood

In a candid revelation, Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji shared insights into the challenges he faced regarding underpayment despite playing lead roles in movies.

During a recent episode of the ‘Deep Dive’ podcast hosted by comedian Teju Babyface, Adedimeji disclosed that he experienced significant underpayment in the early stages of his career. He recounted instances where he received as little as N4,000 for a lead role in 2014, highlighting the financial struggles he endured during that period.

Adedimeji candidly expressed the harsh reality of his journey in the film industry, revealing that he only began to receive more substantial payments ranging from N100,000 to N200,000 for roles in 2015. He emphasized that the meager payments he received earlier in his career were part of the learning process, reflecting the challenges faced by aspiring actors in the industry.
