Baba-Ahmed Stands Firm: Insists Obi Won 2023 Presidential Election

Former Vice Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Yusuf Baba-Ahmed, reiterated his belief that he and Peter Obi emerged victorious in the 2023 presidential election, affirming that he will continue to assert this position.

During an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Friday, Baba-Ahmed maintained his stance, alleging that the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Result Viewing portal (IRev) was deliberately switched off while results were manually returned.

He expressed confidence in his position, stating, “We won the 2023 election. I will never stop saying it.” Baba-Ahmed pointed to discrepancies in the electoral process, including the manual return of results and alleged manipulation of constitutional provisions and language interpretation.

Despite the challenges faced, Baba-Ahmed emphasized the resilience of the Labour Party, comparing its current state favorably to that of the CPC in the lead-up to the 2015 election.

He urged Nigerians to critically assess the performance of the current government, highlighting concerns such as worsening insecurity, economic decline, and increased corruption. Additionally, he hinted at potential future challenges, suggesting a scheme to partition Nigeria into six autonomous zones beyond 2027.

Baba-Ahmed’s unwavering stance reflects ongoing scrutiny of the electoral process and broader political landscape, underscoring the need for transparency and accountability in Nigeria’s democratic institutions.
