Fubara Credits Rivers State’s Achievements to Divine Grace

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has credited the accomplishments of his administration to divine grace, despite the ongoing political turmoil in the state. Speaking at a state banquet on Monday night to mark his first year in office and the 57th anniversary of Rivers State, Governor Fubara highlighted the role of divine intervention in guiding his government.

During the event at Government House in Port Harcourt, Fubara expressed gratitude for the support his administration has received. He emphasized that the successes achieved thus far were made possible through God’s guidance and strength.

Fubara noted that although the banquet celebrated one year of his administration, real governance, characterized by prudence and a focus on the state’s interests, had effectively been in place for only four months. He affirmed his commitment to governance that prioritizes the well-being of the people of Rivers State.

“We decided to have this banquet today to say ‘thank you’ to each one of you. You have supported us,” Fubara stated. Reflecting on a previous gathering on January 1, 2024, he remarked on the stark contrast in the political atmosphere, expressing amazement at their progress despite uncertainties.

Governor Fubara underscored the importance of divine involvement in their endeavors, noting, “We are succeeding because we are on the side of God. It is not just standing on the side of God; because everybody professes to be standing on the side of God, even the native doctor would call on God. But what is important is God being in your business. God is in our business. And because He is in our business, we will continue to survive, no matter where they are coming from.”

He reiterated his administration’s dedication to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Rivers State, emphasizing that this commitment would remain uncompromised. Highlighting significant projects, Fubara mentioned the Trans-Kalabari Road, a project costing over N225 billion, as evidence of his administration’s genuine love for the state, despite not hailing from the riverine area.

Governor Fubara’s remarks underscored a blend of gratitude, faith, and commitment to the development of Rivers State, positioning divine grace as a cornerstone of his administration’s achievements.
