Bafana Bafana Stranded Overnight at Port Harcourt Airport

The players and officials of South Africa’s Bafana Bafana encountered an unexpected delay as they spent the night stranded at the Port Harcourt airport, unable to travel to Uyo for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup fixture against Nigeria, as reported by GISTLEGIT.

Arriving from Johannesburg on Wednesday night, the contingent faced an unfortunate setback as the airport closed its operations before they could embark on their journey to Uyo.

As a result, the team was forced to stay overnight in Port Harcourt, with plans to resume their travel to Uyo on Thursday morning.

Despite the delay, Hugo Broos’ side remains determined and is expected to make the trip to Uyo promptly, aiming to acclimate themselves with the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium later in the evening.

With the encounter scheduled to take place at 8:00 PM on Friday, both teams are gearing up for what promises to be an exciting and highly anticipated match.
