Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in public governance during the opening session of the 53rd biannual conference organized by the Office of the Auditor-General, Osun State. He urged Federal and state Auditors-General to collaborate in promoting transparent administrations for the benefit of Nigerians.
Represented by his deputy, Kola Adewusi, Adeleke encouraged participants to share knowledge and best practices that would enhance audit processes across the country. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to empowering the Office of the Auditor-General in Osun State to perform its duties independently and effectively.
Adeleke highlighted the significance of transparency and accountability as essential pillars of good governance, emphasizing their role in fostering trust between the government and citizens. He pledged to provide necessary resources and support to ensure the autonomy and professionalism of the Auditor-General’s office in Osun State.
In response, the Auditor-General for the Federation, Shaakaa Chira, represented by Dr. Busayo Fawale, expressed readiness to collaborate with Auditors-General of other government tiers to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
