Anyanwu Urges Uzodinma to Address IMSU Junction Safety Concerns
Senator Samuel Anyanwu, National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has urged the Imo State Government to take immediate action to enhance safety at the IMSU Junction by constructing a standard flyover or modernized roundabout.
In a statement released on Monday, Anyanwu emphasized the need for proactive measures to prevent fatal accidents in the area, particularly in light of the recent tragedy where six individuals lost their lives in a collision involving a trailer and four buses.
Anyanwu, who was the PDP gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 elections, stressed that addressing critical issues affecting citizens should be a priority for the state government. He highlighted the significance of the IMSU Junction, a hub where students and lecturers frequently gather, making it imperative to improve transportation safety in the vicinity.
Rather than allocating resources to frivolous projects, Anyanwu urged the government to allocate funds towards resolving pressing concerns like the IMSU Junction.
Additionally, Anyanwu extended condolences to the families of the deceased and called upon the state government to provide support and assistance to those affected by the tragedy. He emphasized the importance of offering educational and financial support to the families left behind, ensuring they receive the necessary care and assistance during this difficult time.
As prayers are offered for the departed souls, Anyanwu implored the state government to prioritize the welfare and safety of its citizens, taking swift action to prevent similar incidents in the future.
