The Zamfara Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended Rep. Aminu Jaji for alleged anti-party activities and the factionalization of the party’s organs, among other issues. The announcement was made by the State APC Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris, during a press briefing in Gusau on Friday.
Rep. Aminu Jaji, who represents the Kaura-Namoda/Birnin-Magaji Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, faces several allegations, including dishonest practices and habitual absenteeism from party meetings and activities.
Idris stated that the suspension followed a notice of confirmation from the Birnin-Magaji ward APC executives, citing Jaji’s alleged anti-party activities and other irregularities.
“The suspension notice was forwarded to the state APC headquarters by the APC executive committee of Birnin Magaji Local Government. The state executive committee held an emergency meeting at the State Party Secretariat in Gusau today, where Jaji’s suspension matter was tabled and approved,” Idris explained.
The suspension is based on the recommendations of the State disciplinary committee, in line with Jaji’s earlier suspension by the APC Birnin Magaji Ward Executive Committee and affirmed by the APC Birnin Magaji LG Executive Committee.
In response to his suspension, Jaji told NAN in a telephone interview that the allegations against him were baseless and untrue. He criticized the state APC leadership for not following the constitutional provisions of the party, describing the situation as indicative of a lack of focus and leadership within the state APC.
