Bandits Kill Over 40 in Plateau Community Attack
Bandits attacked Zurak village in the Bashar District of Wase Local Government Area, Plateau State, killing over 40 people, including vigilantes. The incident occurred around 5:00 pm on Monday while residents were going about their daily activities.
According to community residents, poor communication networks delayed the immediate reporting of the attack. Sahpi’i Sambo, a youth leader in the area, confirmed that the bandits arrived on motorcycles armed with sophisticated weapons and started shooting indiscriminately.
“More than 40 people were killed, and many were injured. Residents have fled to neighboring communities for safety. As of yesterday, security personnel had not yet arrived at the community. It was deadly,” Sambo reported.
Security authorities have yet to comment on the incident.
