BREAKING: DSS Invites Suspended EFCC Chairman, AbdulRasheed Bawa
Abdulrasheed Bawa, the former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has been invited by the Department of State Services (DSS).
The DSS’s invitation to Bawa came after President Bola Tinubu suspended him on Wednesday for alleged misconduct and abuse of office.
Peter Afunanya (PhD), the DSS spokesperson, signed a letter accompanying the invitation.
The sentence was as follows: βThe Department of State Services (DSS) has invited Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, the suspended Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Bawa arrived a few hours ago.β
βThe invitation relates to some investigative activities concerning him.β
Bawa has been directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the Director, Operations in the Commission, who will oversee the affairs of the Office of the Chairman of the Commission pending the conclusion of the investigation.
The suspension of Bawa comes just a few days after President Tinubu removed Godwin Emefiele, the CBN Governor, from office.
