In creating AI (artificial intelligence) that can answer in a human-like, many organizations feed them instances of genuine discussions from social media sites.

Elon Musk declared on Saturday that Twitter would briefly confine the number of tweets users that could peruse each day, in a drop intended to tamp down on the utilization of the site’s information by Artificial intelligence companies.

Verified accounts on the platform can only read 6,000 tweets per day. Non-verified users — the free accounts that make up the majority of users — are limited to reading 600 tweets per day.

New unverified accounts would be limited to 300 tweets.

300 tweets per new unverified account would be allowed.

Musk said in a tweet on Saturday afternoon that the decision was made ““to address extreme levels of data scraping” and “system manipulation” by third-party platforms, Musk said in a tweet Saturday afternoon, as some users quickly hit their limits.

“RIP Twitter” was a trending topic in the United State following Musk’s declaration.

Twitter would “soon” raise the ceiling to 8,000 tweets per day for verified accounts, 800 for unverified accounts and 400 for new unverified accounts, Musk said.

The billionaire who owns Twitter did not specify a timeline for the duration of the measures.

Musk had made the announcement the day before that the site would no longer allow users without accounts to read tweets.

A significant part of the information scratching was coming from firms utilizing it to construct their AI models, Musk said, to the point that it was causing traffic issues with the site.

Numerous businesses provide them with examples of actual conversations from social media sites in the process of developing AI that can respond in a human-like manner.

Musk stated, “Several hundred organizations (maybe more) were scraping Twitter data extremely aggressively, to the point where it was affecting the real user experience,”.

“Almost every company doing AI, from startups to some of the biggest corporations on Earth, was scraping vast amounts of data,” he said.

“It is rather galling to have to bring large numbers of servers online on an emergency basis just to facilitate some AI startup’s outrageous valuation.”

Twitter is not the only social media powerhouse confronted with the rapid growth of AI.

Reddit raised prices for third-party developers who used its data and swept up conversations on its forums in the middle of June.

It demonstrated a disputable move, as numerous customary clients also got to the site by means of outsider stages, and denoted a shift from past plans where social media data had for the most part been accommodated free or a little charge.
