BREAKING: INEC declares Aminu Tambuwal as the Senator-elect for Sokoto South
Aminu Tambuwal has been declared the winner of Sokoto South senatorial district election
With a total of 100,860 votes, Tambuwal, a governor for two terms and a candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), emerged victorious.
He defeated the All Progressives Congress (APC) and incumbent senator Abdullahi Danbaba Dambuwa, who received 95,884 votes, by a margin of 4,976 votes.
The results were announced on Sunday at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in the state’s Bodinga Local Government Area by Professor Abubakar Abdullahi Bagudo, the Returning Officer.

Prior, Tambuwal picked the PDP official structure before he reported his withdrawal upon the arrival of the essential for the inevitable applicant and previous VP, Atiku Abubakar.
However, with his most recent victory, he will be returning to the National Assembly as a senator representing the Sokoto South senatorial district. Additionally, the governor had been a member of the Kebbe/Tambuwal federal constituency for three terms in the Federal House of Representatives, where he rose to the position of Speaker from 2011 to 2015.
