BREAKING: Lagos state ranks fourth worst city to live in the world
According to a report, Lagos is the world’s fourth worst city to live in.
According to The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), a sister publication of The Economist of London, Lagos, Nigeria‘s economic hub, is now the fourth worst place in the world to live.
The EIU’s 2023 Global Liveability report ranked Lagos higher than Algiers, Algeria’s capital; Tripoli, the capital of Libya; what’s more, Damascus, the capital of war-torn Syria.
30 Qualitative and quantitative factors were used across five broad categories in the survey of 173 cities in the report: healthcare, environment and culture, stability, education, and infrastructure After holding the title for two years in a row, Lagos was ranked second worst for living in 2022, just behind Damascus, which had been hampered by social unrest, terrorism, and conflict.
Although improvements in healthcare and education helped Lagos rise in the rankings, EIU noted that corruption remains a problem.
