Breaking: Manchester United agree Mason Mount transfer as compromise reached with Chelsea
Mason Mount will be signed by Manchester United this summer in a deal worth £60 million with Chelsea.
After weeks of tense negotiations, the Premier League rivals have reached a positive agreement, and Erik ten Hag is now all set to sign his top midfield target.
Manchester United saw their third offered for Mount worth £50m in addition to £5m in additional fees dismissed last week, with Chelsea requesting a £65m package.
However, according to David Ornstein, the Blues have agreed to a compromise and will receive £55 million up front in addition to up to £5 million in appearance bonuses and success-based add-ons.
Before signing the necessary paperwork, Mount is permitted to undergo a medical and negotiate his personal terms as a United player.
Ten Hag’s first signing of the second summer transfer window at Old Trafford appears to be the 24-year-old midfielder.
He is the fourth midfielder Ten Witch has enrolled since becoming Joined manager last year, following Christian Eriksen and Casemiro on long-lasting arrangements and loanee Marcel Sabitzer.
