BREAKING: Tribunal merges Atiku, Peter Obi and APM’s petitions against Tinubu, fixes May 30 for hearing
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party, and Allied Peoples Movement (APM) petitions against the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission have been combined by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal. INEC).
Justice Haruna Tsammani, who is in charge of the court’s five-man panel, made the announcement on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
All petitions will be heard as a single case as a result of this decision, which was made clear during the reading of the pre-hearing report.
The chairman further revealed that the hearing of the consolidated petition is set to initiate on May 30, 2023.
Written addresses will be adopted on August 5, 2023, paving the way for the court to prepare for the final judgment as the proceedings progress.

He had argued that even though the three petitions were from different parties, they were all aimed at declaring Tinubu the winner of the 2023 presidential election.
He stated, “The petitions from their contents and foundation are flying together with equal force to the same direction of righting the wrongs in the election”
The former vice president asserts that it is normal and acceptable for the Court to act in accordance with the law in order to achieve justice for the parties.
He requested that the Court dismissTinubu’s and the APC’s complaints, asserting that their objective was to defer the knowing about the petitions against normal equity.
Nevertheless, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which was represented by Chief Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, stated that it would adhere to the Court’s decision.
