The constituents of Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji in Zamfara State have begun gathering registered voters’ signatures to recall their National Assembly representative, Aminu Sani Jaji, in accordance with Section 69 of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria.
The recall follows Jaji’s suspension by the APC, upheld by the Birnin Magaji Local Government and the APC State Working Committee. The constituents plan to formally request recall forms from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
A statement by community leaders Bello Mahmud Birnin Magaji and Comrade Mustapha Ibrahi cites Jaji’s inadequate response to bandit attacks, failure to support displaced persons, unfulfilled electoral promises, and opposition to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies. The constituents seek a representative who can better address their security and development needs.
