Fulham captain Tom Cairney has named Chelsea’s Cole Palmer as his Premier League Player of the Season for the 2023-24 campaign, which concludes this Sunday.
Cairney also lauded Palmer as the best signing of the season, highlighting the significant impact the 22-year-old has had at Stamford Bridge following his transfer from Manchester City.
In an appearance on BBC’s The Players Channel podcast, Cairney expressed his high regard for Palmer. “I’m giving it to Palmer. I think Palmer is the Signing of the Season and Player of the Season,” Cairney said.
“He gets bought for £40 million and has literally put the team on his back. Even early in the season with those big penalties, he said, ‘No, give me the ball.’ He’s been the star man.
“What he’s done in a Chelsea shirt is more impressive than what anyone else has done in my opinion.”
