Fani-Kayode Refrains from Hasty Conclusions Regarding Iran President’s Death

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has expressed caution in jumping to conclusions regarding the demise of Iran President Ebrahim Raisi, citing the peculiar circumstances surrounding the incident. In a statement, he emphasized the importance of not discounting any possibilities, including the involvement of MOSSAD, an Israeli intelligence agency known for its clandestine operations.

Raisi, aged 63, reportedly perished in a helicopter crash, a tragedy confirmed by CNN and Iranian news outlets. Among the casualties was Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, along with seven others. The incident occurred amidst heightened tensions in the Middle East, particularly with ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Drawing attention to recent hostilities between Iran and Israel, including Iran’s retaliatory drone-and-missile strike following an attack on its diplomatic compound in Damascus, Fani-Kayode urged for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

“While the cause of the crash is attributed to adverse weather conditions, Fani-Kayode urged the public not to readily accept this narrative without critical examination,” his statement read.

Speculating on the potential involvement of MOSSAD in the incident, Fani-Kayode stressed the need for a comprehensive inquiry to ascertain the truth. He acknowledged the profound loss represented by Raisi’s death, particularly for advocates of Palestinian rights, noting Raisi’s dedication to the Palestinian cause.

“In these uncertain times, let us pause and reflect on the implications of this tragedy,” Fani-Kayode remarked. “May President Ebrahim Raisi, along with all those who perished, find eternal peace.”
