The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) Tank Farm, located at Kayode Street, Marine Beach, Apapa, Lagos, was engulfed by a massive fire on Friday.
Eyewitness Mr. Tunde Are reported that the fire broke out around 11:00 am, causing panic as people scrambled to contain the blaze before the arrival of the rescue team. The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, along with the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), are actively working to extinguish the fire.
The inferno reportedly started due to a spillage of petroleum products within the terminal perimeter. The Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, confirmed the incident and stated that efforts are ongoing with various emergency responders from the oil and gas industry to control the situation.
