Governor Lawal Praises Federal Government and Military for Increased Troop Deployment in Zamfara
Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has expressed his appreciation to the Federal Government and the Nigerian military for deploying additional troops to combat bandit activities in the state. He particularly acknowledged the Joint Task Force for its continuous efforts in countering the assailants causing unrest.
In a statement released after a State Security Council meeting, which focused on the current security situation and ongoing military operations against bandits, Governor Lawal highlighted the significant progress made. The meeting included representatives from all security agencies in the state, such as the military, police, Department of State Services, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
Governor Lawal praised the troops for their successful operations, stating, “Today’s meeting will evaluate the state security situation, assess our progress, and pinpoint areas requiring intensified efforts to enhance the security of our people’s lives and property. The priority of my administration is the security of lives and properties. We are always prepared to provide all the necessary support to various security agencies in the state to help them carry out their duties diligently and effectively.”
He continued, “I want to thank the Federal Government and the military for deploying additional troops to the state. This strategic move aims to eliminate all bandits, and we have started seeing results. I also commend the troops for the arrest of a group of kidnappers in Gusau and the rescue of kidnapped victims across the state, including in Gusau, Maradun, and Kauran Namoda local government areas.”
The governor emphasized that these achievements demonstrate the effectiveness of the ongoing military operations in Zamfara.
