Governor Yusuf Reinstates Emir Sanusi, Emphasizing Justice and Unity
Kano, Nigeria – In a significant political move, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has reinstated Muhammadu Sanusi II as the 16th Emir of Kano. The reinstatement was formalized with the presentation of an official letter during a ceremony on Friday. Governor Yusuf stressed that the decision was made to rectify the injustice of Sanusi’s 2019 dethronement.
“Reinstating Sanusi is a step toward correcting the wrongs of the past. He was unfairly removed in 2019, and today we right that wrong,” Governor Yusuf declared. “He is the rightful Emir of Kano and is returning to continue his commendable work for the people of Kano.”
Governor Yusuf underscored the legitimacy of the legislative process that facilitated Sanusi’s return, asserting, “Once a Bill is signed into law, it becomes irrefutable. This reinstatement is now law and stands as such.”
In his remarks, the governor praised Sanusi’s qualifications and his commitment to the progress of Kano State. He urged the Emir to uphold the principles of Islam and to work on uniting various factions within the community.
“Your reappointment reflects our collective confidence in your ability, dedication, and vision for Kano’s development,” Yusuf said. “As you resume your duties, let the teachings of Islam guide your actions. We trust you to foster unity among the Ibrahim Dabo family and bridge divides within the Islamic community.”
Governor Yusuf’s decision aims to promote justice and reconciliation, reinstating Emir Sanusi to his former position to continue his influential role in Kano’s social and cultural advancement.
