Iran Identifies All Victims of Helicopter Crash

The Iranian government has announced that all nine individuals who tragically lost their lives in Sunday’s helicopter crash have been identified.

According to a high-ranking government official speaking to the Iranian news agency, Tasnim, despite the severity of the injuries sustained, the identities of all occupants of the helicopter were confirmed on Monday.

The bodies of the victims have been transferred to Tabriz, the capital of Iran’s East Azerbaijan province, for further procedures.

Previously, state media had confirmed the fatalities of all nine occupants of the helicopter, including President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian. The helicopter crashed while they were returning from a meeting with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

Among the victims was a senior imam from Tabriz who had led Friday prayers in the city. According to Tasnim, the imam managed to survive for about an hour after the crash and even made contact with the presidential office before succumbing to his injuries.
