manchester united have now been linked with ‘exciting’ arsenal forward
Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun.
Journalist Miguel Delaney has reported in The Independent that Manchester United hold an interest in signing Folarin Balogun from Premier League rivals Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Delaney, though, has noted that United do not think that they will be able to sign the USA international striker this summer.
The 22-year-old is more likely to move to Inter Milan and AC Milan instead, according to the report. Delaney wrote: “Much of the focus has been on Rasmus Hojlund but Manchester United do retain interest in Randal Kolo Muani.
“There are still lines open there, as the French forward is just another number-nine waiting to see where he goes this summer. “United did have a look at Folarin Balogun but that is not seen as a realistic move. Far likelier is the US forward moving to Milan, with both of their giants interested.”
Arsenal should not sell Folarin Balogun to Manchester United
In our opinion, Arsenal should not sell Folarin Balogun to Premier League rivals Manchester United in the summer transfer window. Now, there does not seem to be any suggestion that United are planning a bid for the striker anytime soon.
However, you never know.
If the Red Devils fail to sign Rasmus Hojlund in the summer transfer window, then they could well focus on Balogun.
We think that Arsenal should not sell the USA international striker to the Red Devils.
What if Balogun, who was described as “one of the most exciting young forwards in world football” by coach Saul Isaksson-Hurst on Sky Sports this week, explodes under Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag?
What if the striker becomes a leading figure at United and helps them win the Premier League title next season? Arsenal would be only strengthening United by selling them Balogun, even if he is a player that manager Mikel Arteta is unlikely to use week in and week out in his team.
Balogun did extremely well last season. The striker was on loan at Reims in FRance from Arsenal last season. The 22-year-old made 34 starts and three substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for Reims.
Balogun scored 21 goals and gave two assists in those games.
