Police Confirm Arrest of Gov Uzodimma’s Former Aide, Chinasa Nwaneri, and Three Others
The Imo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Chinasa Nwaneri, a former Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Special Duties, along with three others.
Nwaneri was apprehended on Sunday by security operatives who tracked him to a hotel where he was staying. The arrest follows the discovery of alleged misconduct during the governor’s tenure as Commissioner for Lands. Reports indicate that forged documents bearing the governor’s signature were uncovered.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Imo State Command, ASP Henry Okoye, confirmed Nwaneri’s arrest in a statement released to GISTLEGIT. Okoye detailed that Nwaneri faces charges of “malicious damage, fraudulent activities, obtaining money under false pretence, and illegal use of government power/authority to harass, intimidate, and frustrate the citizens of Imo State.”
The police spokesperson assured that investigations are ongoing and promised to provide further updates as the situation develops.
