Shettima Highlights Policies Focused on Nigerians’ Best Interests

Vice President Kashim Shettima emphasized that the administration’s policies are tailored to the country’s unique circumstances, prioritizing what works best for Nigeria.

During the APC Professionals Forum’s Policy Roundtable Conference at the Shehu Yar’adua Centre in Abuja, Vice President Kashim Shettima elaborated on the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Represented by Dr. Aliyu Modibbo, Special Adviser to the President on General Duties, Shettima stressed that the policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration are designed to address Nigeria’s specific needs.

Shettima acknowledged that each nation’s journey is unique, shaped by its economic history and challenges. He emphasized that while the efforts of other nations are respected, the administration remains focused on what benefits Nigeria the most.

He outlined the administration’s 8-point agenda, which includes job creation, economic growth, food security, poverty eradication, access to capital, the rule of law, anti-corruption efforts, and inclusive development. These initiatives, he stated, are actively being implemented to bring about tangible improvements in the lives of Nigerians.

Examples of such efforts include investments in agriculture to reduce import reliance and boost local production. Shettima also mentioned the Renewed Hope Housing Scheme aimed at addressing the housing deficit and stimulating economic growth.

Moreover, the administration is targeting unemployment and underemployment through various initiatives. These include the Outsource to Nigeria Initiative, Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises, and the Expanded National MSME Clinics, all designed to create job opportunities and promote economic inclusivity.
