Tobi Amusan dominates competition, secures first Diamond League win in Stockholm
After losing in Ostrava to Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn and winning their first Diamond League race this year in Lausanne, the Nigerians have now won their first three races.
At the Stockholm Diamond League, world record holder Tobi Amusan returned to winning ways by easily defeating the rest of the field.
Tobi Amusan, the World Champion, won the women’s 100-meter hurdles in Stockholm, her first Diamond League victory of the season, on a wet and rainy track.
Amusan clocked an impressive 12.52s (0.9), tidying the remainder of the field as Ireland’s Sarah Lavin hustled to an Individual Best (PB) of 12.73s, and Poland’s Pia Skrzyszowska was third in 12.78s.
The World Record (WR) clocked Season Best (SB) seasons of 12.47s in these cities, which energized Nigerian fans that she’s gradually working back to her best form and will be prepared to protect her reality title in Budapest.
Amusan will need to continue to build on this winning energy in her next races, and with the Nigerian trail forthcoming, if she’ll be available, it will be a motivational venue to accomplish this as she races with the with the home based athletes and in front of her home fans.
