In the 2023 edition of the Brand Finance Football 50, Manchester City was named the brand of the world’s most valuable football club.
The list ranks the most strongest football brands, not the worth of the club as a whole or its assets as a whole. Forbes recently published their most recent list of the most valuable clubs.
Meanwhile, Manchester City topped the most recent Deloitte Money League ranking based on annual revenue, followed by Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Manchester United.
The value of a club’s brand is the focus of Brand Finance.
City’s brand value has increased as a result of its increased revenue and pitch success. The club has made a lot of money from broadcasting, and its international fame and exposure has led to more and bigger sponsorship and commercial opportunities.
Real Madrid is still regarded as the strongest football club brand anywhere in the world, despite the fact that its value in 2023 will be less than Manchester City’s.
“Brand strength is what attracts fans, players, investors and sponsors to engage with the club – delivering commercial value through higher revenues, prices, higher growth, and sponsors, reducing risks to profitability related to weak on pitch performance.” according to Brand Finance.
