On streaming websites like Spotify, the popularity of Nigerian musicians is dramatically increasing.
Streaming revenues are giving to Nigerian musicians, like Wizkid who has made an estimated $24 million, a new source of income.
According to estimates, Spotify typically pays musicians between $0.003 and $0.005 for each stream.

With 5.5 billion streams on Spotify, Wizkid would have made a whopping $24 million, or N11.05 billion at the current exchange rate, based on Spotify’s streaming rate of $0.003 per stream.
Burna Boy is the artist who comes in second place to Wizkid with 4.3 billion streams and $18.79 million in royalties. Third place goes to Ckay with 1.69 billion streams.
