The next season will premiere early next month.
A trailer for season five of MTV Shuga Naija has been released ahead of the highly anticipated series’ debut.
The teaser, which features both familiar and new faces, promises some great drama and suspense.
This season of MTV Shuga Naija focuses on toxic masculinity, the aftermath of a COVID-19 death, gender-based violence, and an HIV-infected relationship.
Season five sees the return of Adesua Etomi-Wellington (Sheila), Sharon Jatto (Simi), and Tomiwa Tegbe (Wasiu).
Genoneva Umeh, BBTitans’ Kanaga Emmanuel Eme, Gbubemi Ejeye, Susan Pwajok, Maggie Osuome, Ilooise Omohinmi, Chioma Edak, Kiki Omeili, and Francis Onwochei are some of the new additions.
Produced by 1Pod Pictures, the new season is run by Isioma Osaje and Temidayo Makanjuola. Adeola Osunkojo, Kayode Kasum, and Yemi “FilmBoy” Morafa are attached as co-directors.
Kemi Adesoye leads the writers room, which includes Tamara Aihie, Chiemeka Osuagwu, Sonia Irabor, and Fatimah Binta Gimsay.
Season five of MTV Shuga Naija is set to premiere on MTV Base (DStv channel 322 and GOtv channel 72), BET, and the free-to-air platform, NTA later this year.
