Nigeria’s president-elect has settled for Akwa ibom senator-elect, Godswill Akpabio, to emerge as the president of 10th senate.
Bola Tinubu had previously reached out to senator Jibrin Barau in a meeting held on Tuesday, April 25th with Akpabio, Barau, Biodun Oyebanji ( Governor of Ekiti state ) and Senator Opeyemi Bamidele to quit his ambition and take up the position of the deputy senate president in order to ensure a good start for his administration.
Barau has reportedly confirmed to allow a christian senate president to emerge in the interest of equity and fairness.
Bola Tinubu has apparently picked his favorite candidates for the position of the senate Godswill Akpabio and deputy senate president Jibrin Barau. Godswill Akpabio is the former president of Akwa ibom state and Jibrin Barau was among the nine contenders for the 10th senate presidency and inauguration is slated for June 13th 2023.
