Helicopter Crash Claims Lives of Iranian President Raisi and Top Officials[PHOTOS]


Photographs have emerged showing the wreckage of the helicopter crash that tragically claimed the life of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi over the weekend. The incident, which also resulted in the deaths of Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and several other high-ranking officials, occurred in a mountainous region of East Azerbaijan province under foggy conditions.

The crash involved three helicopters, with two carrying ministers and other officials. Alongside Raisi and Amir-Abdollahian, East Azerbaijan Governor Malek Rahmati and Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Ale-Hashem, the Supreme Leader’s representative to East Azerbaijan, were also on board.

The convoy was returning from a trip to neighboring Azerbaijan, where President Raisi had inaugurated a dam. The precise cause of the crash remains under investigation, with rescue officials still on the scene.

Iranian state television, as well as Mehr and Tasnim news agencies, have confirmed the deaths of President Raisi, who was 63 years old and had assumed office in 2021, along with the other victims of the crash. The nation mourns the loss of its leader and top officials amid ongoing rescue and investigative efforts.
