Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo has thrown his support behind compatriot Ademola Lookman for the 2024 CAF Player of the Year award.
Omeruo’s endorsement follows Lookman’s stellar performance in Atalanta’s 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Europa League final, where Lookman netted all three goals. This achievement made Lookman the first African to score a hat-trick in the final of a major European competition.
Lookman has also been pivotal in Nigeria’s recent successes, contributing three goals in seven matches to help the Super Eagles secure a second-place finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
