Nigerian highlife singer Chinedu Okoli, known by his stage name Flavour, has announced the passing of his father, Elder Onyemaechi Okoli. Elder Okoli passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2023.
Flavour shared the heartbreaking news on his X (formerly Twitter) account, writing in Igbo: “My father, Ijele’s (his nickname) father, rest well. God gave and God has taken.”
Fans and colleagues have been offering their condolences in the comment section, expressing their support for the grieving artist. The family has not yet released details about the funeral arrangements.
