Former Nigeria striker Victor Ikpeba has advised new Super Eagles assistant coach Daniel Amokachi to prioritize harmony within the team.
Speaking on Monday Night Football, Ikpeba emphasized that Finidi George is now “the boss” and highlighted the need to avoid past mistakes.
On Monday, Amokachi was confirmed as one of the assistant coaches for the men’s national team. Ikpeba recalled the disarray within the coaching staff three years ago as a cautionary tale.
He noted that the previous attempt to pair Emmanuel Amuneke with Augustine Eguavoen did not yield positive results.
Amokachi, who will be compensated on a per-game basis, has prior experience as an assistant to the late Stephen Keshi.
