EPL: Jorge Mendes Suggests Sergio Conceicao for Chelsea’s Next Manager After Pochettino’s Exit

Agent Jorge Mendes has reportedly recommended Porto’s current manager, Sergio Conceicao, as a potential successor to Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea. This comes after Chelsea announced on Tuesday that Pochettino has mutually parted ways with the club after just one season.

Pochettino had initially signed a two-year contract with an option for a third year.

According to The Mirror, Mendes proposed Conceicao despite the Portuguese manager being under contract with Porto until 2028. The report suggests that Conceicao’s contract, which was signed under former president Pinto da Costa, could potentially be terminated, allowing him to join Chelsea without any cost.

Conceicao, who has been managing Porto since 2017, has won 10 trophies, making him the second-most successful manager in Portuguese football history. He has also been linked with managerial roles at AC Milan and Marseille.
